Our students write in a variety of styles. 'War or Peace' is a dramatic piece about discovering a destroyed city beyond a mysterious door. It features vivid descriptions of ruins, explosions and the panic of the narrator. 'A Diary Entry' is a light-hearted piece about a sister and her little brother. It shows how everyday moments can be captured in a diary entry with natural dialogue.

Our students write stories of honesty and responsibility. The story 'Ken at the Toy Shop' follows a boy who visits a toy shop with his mum. He spots a dancing robot he really likes, but breaks it by accident. What would you do if you were Ken? 'A Purse Theft at the Supermarket' is about a girl shopping with her mum. She sees a man stealing a lady's purse from her trolley. She bravely tells others about it and the police catch the thief. Would you do the same if you were her?

After watching the video ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’, our P1 students learnt important positive values that align with the theme of ‘Care for Others’. They understood the importance of being kind and the need to apologize for their mistakes. The story highlights how our actions can affect those around us and underscores the value of empathy and consideration. 

The P2 students watched a video about ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and enjoyed the story very much. Their work demonstrated not only their creativity, but also their understanding of responsibility. The story provided a valuable lesson about the consequences of one’s actions and the importance of being diligent and responsible. Through discussions and activities related to the story, students learnt that taking responsibility means making thoughtful decisions and putting in the necessary effort to ensure success.

On English Day this year, students had a wonderful journey of gratitude. Teachers encouraged their young students to reflect on the people or things they were thankful for by writing or drawing them on the leaves. This activity not only fostered a sense of appreciation, but also enhanced their self-expression. It is heartwarming to see the diverse range of things they cherish, from family and friends to pets and favourite teachers.
